Golden Stag International Festival is scheduled to take place in Brașov on 22-25 August. Radio Romania Big Band, the most well-known and long-standing professional orchestra in Romania, together with 30 members of the Brașov Opera Orchestra, will form the orchestra of the 2019 Golden Stag International Festival. Under the baton of conductors Ionel Tudor and Andrei Tudor, the 50 instrumentalists will accompany finalists of the edition and artists who will perform on the festival stage.
Finalists will compete on the festival stage alongside the orchestra, which is a tradition that the organizers have respected since the festival began in 1968. Already a tradition also is the presence of Radio Romania Big Band.
"We are enjoying this event every time. It is the most beautiful festival in Europe, as colleagues from abroad say, and we are proud to be part of it and to bring our contribution from a musical point of view”, says Ionel Tudor, who this year celebrates 25 years of conducting Radio Romania Big Band.
"The Golden Stag is a celebration and a good opportunity to bring to the public's attention old pieces of Romanian music. The repertoire chosen by competitors is quite balanced, there are both modern and old but famous pieces of Romanian music, which we re-orchestrated in a pop-symphonic form”, reveals Andrei Tudor. "It is very interesting that foreign artists sing Romanian songs, it is ultimately an intercultural exchange", Andrei states.
The 12 artists will perform on August 22 and 23, so that on Saturday, 24 August, public will already know the winners of the prizes with a total value of 55,000 euros.
Golden Stag International Festival 2019 will have Emeli Sandé, Ronan Keating, Ștefan Bănică jr and Irina Rimes as special guest artists invited to perform.
