Public Radio Stations will broadcast the George Enescu Festival
The 20th International Festival ‘George Enescu’, which takes place from 1 to 25 September 2011, brings a series of innovations, including the World Music section and a fine arts biennial.

In 2011 the George Enescu Festival will include more than 160 artistic events, including concerts, opera and ballet, a musicology symposium and exhibition of fine arts.
As co-producer of the event, the Romanian National Radio Society will take part in the festival with performances delivered by the Radio orchestras and choirs.
Furthermore, the public radio stations Radio Romania Cultural and Radio Romania Music will record and broadcast live concerts within the festival.
Organisers have announced at a press conference that they intend to turn this festival into a ‘cultural country brand’
According to the Minister of Culture, Kelemen Hunor, 34 million lei have been allocated for this year’s festival, the same budget as last year.
The website for the 2011 edition of the George Enescu Festival was launched last year and includes information about the invited orchestras and artists, as well as the festival’s programme and the ticket prices.
This year, an exhibition of plastic art entitled ‘e-Bienale’, which brings together works by renowned Romanian artists, but also by arts students, will be organized within the event for the first time.
Book and albums wll be put out as well.
The festival will take place on eight stages in the capital: the Palace Grand Hall, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Bucharest National Opera, the I. L. Caragiale National Theatre, the National Art Museum AuditoriumHall, the ‘Mihail Jora’ Hall of the Romanian National Radio Society, the Small Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum and the George Enescu Square – the festival’s Square.
