Public officials suspected of bribery
Several employees of a service of personal records in Bucharest are heard in an investigation regarding "illegal granting of Romanian citizenship".

Several officials of the National Authority for Citizenship, the Public Community Service of Personal Records Bucharest and Civil Status Service from District 1 are suspected of receiving bribe for issuing Romanian passports for citizens in the Republic of Moldova.
For the time being there were issued retention orders for eight people.
Shortly as the hearings started , the head of the Directorate for Persons Record and Databases Management from District 1 suffered a heart attack and died, despite resuscitation efforts made by the medical intervention staff.
According to the authorities, the head the Directorate for Persons Record had no attribute in this case.
While at home, he was informed that two subordinated colleagues were arrested for hearings.
In this investigation, prosecutors carried out 32 inquisitions in addresses from Bucharest , Chitila, Otopeni and Teleorman County.
