Romania and Ukraine will have "a new approach" to prevent Russian attacks on Ukraine's strategic infrastructure, at the border with Romania, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Wednesday, October 18, quoted by Agerpres.
He emphasized that, until this moment, "there are no indications that it was an intentional attack by the Russian Federation on Romania".
"I came accompanied by the Minister of Defense from Romania, Mr. Angel Tilvar, who recently had a very effective communication with the Minister of Defense from Ukraine. I am firmly convinced that certain measures have already been taken together. Moreover, within NATO, together with the strategic partner, the United States of America, other measures have been taken to prevent such incidents. Until this moment, there are no indications that it was a deliberate attack by the Russian Federation on Romania, it was not an attack intentionally. Together with the Prime Minister, we will have a new approach so that the Russian Federation will no longer succeed in these attacks", said Marcel Ciolacu.
On Wednesday, October 18, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu paid an official visit to Kyiv, where he met Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmihal, and then participated in the joint meeting of the Romanian and Ukrainian governments.
The agenda of the visit to Kyiv also included a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as with the President of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
