On Friday, January 24, an authorized protest took place in Victory Square in the capital, and the participants ended the action when anti-government demonstrators, supporters of Calin Georgescu, arrived in the area.
Railway workers, military reservists, policemen, miners, foresters and pensioners came to the executive's headquarters, dissatisfied with the legislation on pensions and salaries, as well as with the provisions of the ordinance on measures to cut budget spending, which they say will reduce their incomes.
A delegation of the protesters was received by government representatives, but the talks did not reach any result.
The protesters' delegations held a round of negotiations with government representatives, whose response was related to the Little Train ordinance, which was to be amended in the February 3 session, and the indexation of pensions to be carried out in the summer.
The trade unionists who took to the streets did not agree with this response and decided to continue the protest movement.
