Parliament adopts Declaration on 30 years since 1989 Revolution
Romanian Parliament condemns the acts of aggression, crimes against humanity and flagrant human rights violations committed by the communist regime.

Romanian Parliament adopted, on Monday, in a joint plenary solemn sitting, a Declaration devoted to marking 30 years since Revolution of December 1989.
Speeches were made by President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, presidents of the two parliamentary chambers and leaders of parliamentary groups.
MPs paid tribute to those who fought and sacrificed for liberty. They called on the Judiciary to find out the truth about what happened at the Revolution and to bring out to light all those who were guilty of crimes.
At the end of the meeting, the Parliament adopted a joint statement.

MPs express their respect for the acts of resistance of any form and reaffirm their attachment to the principles, values and aims of the Romanian Revolution.
Joint statement adopted by the Romanian Parliament affirms the need to strengthen democracy and universal values and stresses the importance of continuing the efforts of the Judiciary to identify and hold accountable all those who are responsible for the death of over one thousand people in the December 1989 Revolution.
