Over 7.000 requests for the birth rate increase program

Producer: Mihaela Enache - The Ministry of Family announced that, so far, more than 7.000 requests have been submitted for the program to increase the birth rate and that the deadline for submitting projects for day care centers for children has been extended. The town halls have at their disposal 50 million euros, money from the NRRP, for the development of these centers. Amalia Bojescu has details:
Reporter: The national social program for increasing the birth rate has so far recorded more than 7.200 requests for financial support dedicated to couples or infertile people. Already, almost 200 files have been declared eligible, and these days the first vouchers will also be sent, announced the Minister of the Family, Gabriela Firea, who says that, from next week, the first participants in the program will be able to start treatment and buy their medicines from partner pharmacies.
At the same time, the relevant minister also announced that the deadline for submitting projects for the network of 150 day care centers for children has been extended. Until February 9, the mayors must send projects to benefit from the 50 million euros from the NRRP. Minister Gabriela Firea also stated that the draft of Romania's accession to the European Association of Youth Cards has been launched in public debate. The youth card could be distributed starting from spring, so that young Romanians up to the age of 35 will be able to benefit from the discounts offered for shopping, transport or cultural institutions.
