Weather forecasters say that Romania will have a normal winter, but they draw the attention that neither blizzards nor frost nor warm weather periods will lack.
Florinela Georgescu, the head of the Forecasting Center of the National Meteorological Administration asserts that, for the time being, there are no signs of unusual meteorological phenomena for the second half of December.
According to the expert, "on December 14th and 15th we might face a new wave of snowfalls this time associated with a Mediterranean cyclone".
Likewise, according to the NMA expert, ‘blizzards, which are quite frequent in December, might blow on narrow areas on December 9th and 10th, when precipitation is likely to fall, and also on December 14th and 15th.
When being asked about the weather forecast for Christmas, the NMA expert answered that she could only estimate the weather conditions, and that the existing model did not show "anything unusual".
According to the NMA expert`s opinion, the estimations for Christmas do not show anything unusual as far as minimum and maximum temperatures, and also precipitations are regarded.
Moreover, Florinela Georgescu asserted that beginning Saturday, the weather would cool down, and it might rain lightly.
The following weather and agrometeorological forecast based on the weather forecast model developed by the European Center for Weather Forecast is made for early January.
