A new outbreak of bird flu has been confirmed in a commercial poultry farm in Maramureș County (Northern Romania).
Products from commercial turkey farms in Hungary – where the bird flu virus has been found - have arrived in several EU Member States, including Romania, European Commission announced on Friday.
Romanian National Authority for Veterinary and Food Safety ANSVSA ordered withdrawal of the products in question from the market and their incineration.
Bird flu does not affect humans, but can cause significant economic damage.
