National Fund for Patient Safety

National Fund for Patient Safety

Articol de Radiojurnal, 31 Ianuarie 2021, 20:12

The Minister of Health, Vlad Voiculescu, announced the establishment of a fund for health infrastructure problems.

The national fund for patient safety will be financed from European money and budget and will allow hospitals to make urgent investments for fire safety, earthquake safety and prevention of nosocomial infections, Vlad Voiculescu stressed.

Vlad Voiculescu: It is a national fund for the safety of patients in hospitals. We have European money available through the National Recovery and Resilience Program, we also have money from the national budget, which we will allocate for this purpose, and we will make sure that it is used as a priority for the urgent improvement of hospital safety infrastructure. We refer here in particular to fire safety, also earthquake safety and last but not least, to one of the great criminals in the Romanian health system, namely nosocomial infections.

Host: The Minister of Health announced the establishment of a telephone information service so that the relatives of COVID hospitalized patients can obtain information about their situation. At the same time, the vaccination strategy was changed so that next month all the new open spots that will appear on the special platform will be intended for people over 65, chronically ill and those with a degree of disability.

People already scheduled will be vaccinated as planned. Workers in key areas will not be able to make new appointments in February.
