Europe is going through the most difficult times since World War II, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said in Sofia at the end of a meeting of prime ministers from NATO allies in Southeast Europe.
What the heads of government in Romania, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro have concretely established, says the RRA envoy, Andrei Serban:
The prime ministers of Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Northern Macedonia discussed the troops with whom they will contribute to the establishment on Romanian and Bulgarian territory of two NATO fighting groups, as decided at the recent summit of the alliance last week in Brussels.
During the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Nicolae Ciuca discussed the end of dependence on Russian gas by putting into operation a pipeline linking Greece to Bulgaria and which in the autumn will be able to bring liquefied gas to Romania.
Nicolae Ciuca: We discussed the issues related to the way it works together with the Greek side to complete the interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece, we received guarantees that all these works will be completed this summer, in June, and later will follow the testing process, so in the autumn of this year we will be able to benefit from the transit of liquefied gas that can be supplied to the port of Alexandroupolis, Greece.
The Romanian and Bulgarian prime ministers also discussed increasing the transport capacity on the Danube, as well as the proposal to build five new bridges over the river.
At the bilateral meetings he had with his counterparts in Montenegro and Northern Macedonia, Nicolae Ciuca assured him that Romania supports these states on their way to integration into the European Union.
