President Klaus Iohannis expressed his solidarity with the Spanish people and reiterated Romania's determination to cooperate closely and to continue the fight against terrorism.
In a message of condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain, the Head of the State said that in the current context, the joint steps of Romania and Spain to set up an International Court against Terrorism must be pursued with even more determination.
Romanian authorities are alongside the international institutions in their fight against terrorism, the Speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea, also mentioned in a message to the Spanish officials.
Princess Margaret, the Custodian of the Romanian Crown, has sent a message of compassion to the families of the victims who have lost their lives in yesterday's terrorist attacks in Spain.
"The Royal Family deeply resents these crimes committed against peers, democracy and freedom," Princess Margaret underlines in the message.
