The National Vaccination Campaign against COVID-19 started yesterday at 9.00, when the first person was immunized.
The first person to get vaccinated is a nurse from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases "Matei Bals" from the Capital. Mihaela Anghel is among the medical staff who treated the first patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
Mihaela Anghel: It was a nerve-racking experience. I was privileged to be the first person vaccinated in this country. It didn't hurt at all. I can say it's the most painless vaccine I've ever had.
Reporter: What do you want to say to Romanians who do not want to be vaccinated or who are not sure?
Mihaela Anghel: I'm telling them to open their eyes and come get vaccinated, to be able to get rid of this burden that weighs on us all, and not to wait for them or their loved ones to get sick in order to realize that this disease exists.
