Challenges of digital evolution, digital media, successful strategies are the main issues on the agenda of the Media 2020 Conference, at its fourth edition, organized in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, by Radio Romania and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). This year's edition is hosted by Kazmedia - the public radio and television station in this Central Asian Republic.
"Media 2020 has targeted and successfully managed to open new horizons for communication between Asia and Europe in the field of Radio and TV ... Radio Romania is one of Europe's oldest public radio stations, celebrating 90 years of continuity this year and offering professional and impartial content to our listeners", said Georgică Severin, President Director-General of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company (Radio Romania), at today’s opening.
"We are glad to have this partnership with Radio Romania and, through Radio Romania, with the whole of Europe. Media 2020 is already a brand in the media, radios and televisions on many continents are coming to this event to make their contribution, but also to benefit from the experience of their colleagues", said Javier Mottaghi, ABU Secretary General, in an interview offered to Radio Romania.
Media 2020 is an essential bridge between Europe and the Asia-Pacific, facilitating exchange of information, which is very important in the 21st century among different radio and television companies, as well as co-operation and adaptation of common strategies.
Organized the first time in 2015 on Radio Romania's initiative, event was an absolute premiere: ABU held its first meeting outside the Asia-Pacific geographic space, thus offering representatives of the most important media corporations on four continents the opportunity to participate in a wide-ranging dialogue.
Conference enjoys broad participation from the most significant media organizations in Europe and Asia, with more than 40 countries present this year with representatives of ABU and EBU - European Broadcasting Union.
