Largest planetarium in Romania is now open at Slănic Prahova Salt Mine, about 100 kilometers north from Bucharest.
Supernova Planetarium hosts interactive presentations of the universe (constellations, planets, galaxies, comets, asteroids).
Project’s value was over RON 2 million (around EUR 423,000), and part of the amount came from the European Union.
Planetarium has a diameter of 16 meters and a 24,000-lumen laser projection system (4K).
Host of inauguration event was Dumitru Prunariu, the first and only Romanian astronaut who ever came into space.
