Former Minister of agriculture Ioan Avram Mureşan was finally sentenced to seven years in prison to execution.
The magistrates of the supreme court decided that Mureşan, will go to prison because he was found guilty of abuse of office for facts in the period during which he was a dignitary .
High Court of Cassation and Justice rejected the appeal filed by the former Minister of Agriculture Ioan Avram Mureşan, so he has given 24 hours to surrender to the authorities for being taken to prison for the next seven years.
Mureşan is accused of abusively approved the grant of 5,000 tons of crude oil from State reserves to a company that does not meet any condition to benefit from this support.
Former Minister in the Government of the Democratic Convention, Ioan Avram Mureşan was convicted this year in February 2012, also by the Supreme Court, with another former Minister of Agriculture, Decebal Traian Remeş, to three years of imprisonment in the file publicly known as "Caltaboşul" .
In this case Ioan Avram Mureşan was convicted of complicity in buying influence and complicity in bribery.
Both Avram Mureşan, Decebal Traian Remeş appealed against the decision of conviction.
