RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - In Maramures, through the Sighet Border Crossing Point, several hundred Ukrainian citizens, mainly of Romanian origin, entered Romania today, from the towns near the border.
Some families traveled by car, and others entered the country on foot with some luggage in hand, most of them asking for help from relatives in Maramures.
We find out what the situation is at the moment from our colleague, Cristi Dumitrascu: “You should know that it has become a bit crowded. It's the same flow as tourists, as they say. There are even tourists among them, because I saw Hungarian citizens, but also Israelis, who left after only a day of stay in Ukraine, somewhere very close to the border there is a ski slope, but other than that the figures that we've all heard about, of a lot of tourists here, are not true. Things are, say the representatives of the border crossing function, like on a normal day, that is, somewhere around 1000 in a day.”
Host: Did you manage to talk to people? Did you see concern on their faces?
Reporter: "People are worried. They don't want to talk. It was very difficult, but we managed to talk to some citizens I mentioned earlier."
