European Commissioners-designates from Romania and Hungary, Rovana Plumb and Lazslo Trocsanyi, have been invited to an extraordinary hearing on Thursday, September 26, at the European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) to clarify some controversial aspects of their Wealth Statements.
Information has been confirmed in a Facebook post by Romanian MEP Sigfried Mureşan.
Most of the candidates for a European Commissioner post have passed the "filter" of this EP committee, and two others received some recommendations in order to clarify their situation.
France Presse News Agency writes that each candidate must submit a declaration of wealth to the European Members of the Parliament (MEPs), specifying their assets, real estate and previous activities and that only on the basis of this document MEPs authorize them or not to proceed to the next stage: hearing in the European Parliament, scheduled for 30 September to 8 October, necessary for their nomination to be validated.
