The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organised over 900 polling stations for the Europarliamentary elections in countries where Romania has diplomatic representations. On Sunday, Romanian citizens living abroad or passing through those countries will be able to cast their votes. In Italy, there will be the most polling stations abroad for the Europarliamentary elections - 150.
RRA correspondent Elena Postelnicu reports: "In organizing the 150 polling stations, a number double that of the 2019 Europarliamentary elections, the Romanian Embassy in Rome and all our country's consulates in the peninsula also had the support of the Italian authorities, as confirmed by Ambassador Gabriela Dancau.
Gabriela Dancau: "Of course, our efforts benefited from the support of the Italian authorities, but also from the support of the Romanian citizens in Italy, essential factors in the organization and conduct of the voting process. In order to support Romanian citizens in Italy, our embassy has produced an interactive map with the 150 polling stations.
It is available on the Embassy's website and on the Facebook pages of the diplomatic missions and consular offices in Italy. The interactive map allows you to find the nearest voting location and can be accessed from any Google Maps compatible device."
More than 1.100.000 Romanian citizens live in Italy. The most numerous communities are in the regions of Lazio, Piemonte, Lombardia and Venetto, where there are also the most polling stations."
