Thousands of car manufacturers of Dacia Renault at the Mioveni platform (Argeş) went out on the streets, on Tuesday, November 7, in a massive protest against the Romanian Government’s planned measure to transfer the social contribution from employer to employee, but also agains the obligation to negotiate and conclude collective labor contracts at branch level, and to demand the starting of the Pitești-Sibiu motorway construction.
This rally, organized by Dacia Renault Trade Union, is the second in the last two weeks.
„The main dissatisfaction of the trade unionists is related to the Government's plans to pass social contributions from the employer to the employee”, Vice-President of the Dacia Automobile Union, Ion Iordache, told Radio România Actualităţi (RRA, Radio Romania News). „This measure can have a devastating effect on employees. It is a rupture between the leadership of this country and us, the people. Everybody is against this measure and yet Bucharest continues to say it will be applied”, he said.
RRA Press Correspondent in Argeș, Cristian Matei: Dacia employees also require start of works on the motorway section between Pitești and Sibiu, a vital transport artery for the plant, but also for the Southern part of the country, both for the supply and delivery of parts and for the transport of new cars to the markets of Europe.
