Cristian Chivu, the Romanian Footballer of the Year
The full-back and the national football team captain of Romania, Cristian Chivu, was assigned the Footballer of the year 2010 in Romania, on the Romanian Football Gala occasion.

At the Romanian Football Gala were given the awards of 2010. Cristian Chivu, the full-back and the national football team captain of Romania, was assigned the Romanian Footballer of the year 2010, at the Romanian Football Gala, which took place on Monday, at Crystal Palace Ballrooms in Bucharest.
Cristian Chivu, player of Inter Milano team, winner of the UEFA Champions League and of the Serie A Championship, succeeds Adrian Mutu (2008) and Răzvan Raţ (2009) on this prize list.
The football player competed with Gabriel Tamaş (West Bromwich Albion) and Radu Ştefan (Lazio).
The trophy for the best coach was won by Dan Petrescu, who advanced from Kuban Krasnodar to the Russian Premier League, and was liked better than the other two nominees, Dorinel Munteanu (Oţelul Galaţi) and Cristian Pustai (Gaz Metan Mediaş).
Marius Stan from Oţelul Galaţi won the award ‘The Best Leader of the year 2010’, Adrian Porumboiu was assigned the Investor of the Year, while Cristian Balaj gained the trophy of the Best Referee of the Year.
The award for the Best Goal Keeper of the Year was given to Costel Pantilimon (FC Timişoara), who competed with Ciprian Tătăruşanu (Steaua) and Dusan Kuciak (FC Vaslui).
Paul Papp (FC Vaslui) gained the award for the Best Full-Back, for which Vasile Maftei and Sergiu Costin were also nominated. Gabriel Paraschiv, from Galati won the prize for the Best Half-Back, competing with Gabriel Torje from Dinamo and Dan Alexa from Timisoara.
The award for the Best Striker was given to Junior Moraes, the Brazilian player from Gloria Bsitriţa, who came off victorious in front of Bogdan Stancu (Steaua) and Lacina Traore (CFR Cluj).
The prize for the Best Foreigner of the Year was shared by two Brazilians, Eric de Oliveira (Gaz Metan Mediaş) and Wesley Lopez (FC Vaslui).
