Romanian National Radio Orchestra hosts, on Friday, October 20 at 19:00, at the Radio Hall in Bucharest, a Schumann & Brahms concert under the baton of the young conductor Andrei Feher, of Romanian origin, a well-known name on the international musical scene, currently the Music Director of Kitchener - Waterloo Symphony Orchestra from Canada.
The evening will start will Overture Genoveva by Robert Schumann, followed by another opera of the German composer, that will bring to the foreground the horn as a solo instrument: Concertpiece for four horns and orchestra, op. 86. An opportunity to bring on the Radio Hall stage four notable musicians, well-known for playing the horn in an orchestral ensamble and also as a solo instrument: Ioan Raţiu, former principal horn player at the Radio Romania Symphony Orchestra, currently a Professor at the Robert Schumann Music Academy in Düsseldorf, Germany; Nicolae Dosa, former principal horn player in the Nice and Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestras; Vlad Buzdugan, principal horn player at the Romanian National Radio Orchestra, and Cristian Borcan, horn player in the same orchestra.
The program will end with Symphony no. 3 in F major, op. 90, by J. Brahms, famous especially for part III, Poco allegretto, the soundtrack of the movie Goodbye Again (Do you Like Brahms?), made in 1961.
