RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - 300 children were abandoned, last year, in Romania, in maternity hospitals or in hospitals where they were brought for the treatment of some ailments, announced the Minister of Family, Gabriela Firea. According to her, there are 56 centers in the country where vulnerable mothers can receive support from the state. In addition, until February 9, the mayors can submit projects for the construction of 150 day care centers for children and mothers.
Gabriela Firea: "Projects can still be submitted on the NRRP program, which is managed by the Ministry of Family and ANPDCA. I believe that, through these day care centers, which will be built throughout the country, there will be fewer social cases, fewer cases of children who will be sent by their families to be in the care of the state. Also, two weeks ago, the government passed the Law on the Prevention of Separation of the Child from His Family, whereby, at this time, we are able to establish the National Children's Observatory, in which we will receive, from all communities, social cases of children who are about to be sent to be cared for by the state."
