Bucharest: New restrictions due to the large number of Covid-19 cases

Articol de Radiojurnal, 07 Octombrie 2020, 00:46

New restrictions have been imposed in Bucharest today due to the large number of cases of COVID-19.

Restaurants, cafes and bars will close their indoors again tomorrow, except for those in hotels, which will remain open only to customers staying there.

Cinemas, performance halls and event halls will also be closed. The mask will be mandatory tomorrow around schools, announced yesterday evening the prefect Gheorghe Cojanu after the meeting of the Bucharest Municipality Committee for Emergency Situations.

Gheorghe Cojanu: It was found that people do not wear masks around the schools, as a result of which it was necessary to impose the wearing of masks by children over five years old and adults in the time interval 7:45 - schools start in the morning at 8:00 - and until at 21:15, given that courses end at 21:00. It is the obligation of the general mayor's office and the sector mayor's office to delimit these areas as they see fit. Even a simple painted sign showing that they are a hundred meters away from a school is fine.

Host: The prefect said that these restrictions come into force today and remain valid until the rate of cases of COVID-19 per thousand inhabitants in 14 days falls below 1.5.
