The bill on limiting cash transactions will be approved by the Government next week.
The Prime Minister Victor Ponta has explained that the limit will be set at 10,000 lei, while capping bank charges, so that people do not lose anything.
Mr. Ponta has said that, on the other hand, the banks will not be affected by the reduction of commissions, as they will gain by increasing the number of transactions.
The Finance Ministry argues that its legislative initiative serves to combat tax evasion.
The measures will be enforced after the bill is approved by the Parliament and promulgated by the President.
