At the end of this weekend, the Market Square in the historical center of Sibiu was transformed into the largest mobile entertainment park in Romania, in the middle of which there is a beer festival, inspired by German Oktoberfest.
CibinFest Festival will kick start this evening, September the 27th, at 18:30, when the mayor of Sibiu, Klaus Johannis, will "break", symbolically, the barrel of beer, according to the German tradition of Oktoberfest.
For this festival, the organizers have prepared 800 barrels of beer, or 40 000 liters, from six varieties.
Prices will vary between 4 and 8 lei per glass of beer.
Within the specially designed tent dishes will also be served: from the traditional Weisswurst, always present at German Oktoberfest, until traditional Romanian food, Saxon and Hungarian.
Also, the atmosphere will be heated every evening, by an especially band coming from Austria, "Spatzen 2000", which will play specific songs for Oktoberfest celebrations, but also Saxon jazz and dance bands.
The amusement park, arranged in the Market Square of Sibiu, includes from installation of amusement for children up to extreme facilities for thrills fans.
Among them there is a huge wheel that gets the height of Hall Tower, the emblematic monument of Sibiu, which is at two steps from the market.
CibinFest takes place from September the 27th to 30th.
