Anti-COVID vaccination of children between 5 and 11 years old

Articol de Radiojurnal, 13 Decembrie 2021, 03:53

The COVID vaccination campaign could be extended to children aged 5 to 11 next week.

Pfizer-BioNTech doses for this age group, which are administered one-third of the usual amount of 30 micrograms, are expected in the European Union from Monday.

The coordinator of the national vaccination campaign, Dr. Valeriu Gheorghita, says that everything is ready.

Valeriu Gheorghita: The programming platform has already been optimized, the National Electronic Vaccination Register is also optimized. We have developed the working procedures and instructions, because we already have the leaflet in Romanian translated and available on the website of the European Medicines Agency. We have also made a centralization of the vaccination offices where children between the ages of 5 and 11 will be able to get vaccinated, namely, we are talking about 214 offices, to which is added the possibility of vaccination in family medicine offices. I remind you that it is mandatory to give the informed consent of the parents, respectively of the legal guardian, and the way of presentation will be done either by appointment on the platform or directly at the vaccination center.
