All the ministries presented the plans to decrease the expenses to balance the budget, but many would not want to give up the allocated funds.
They justified every penny they received from the budget, and others came with small reductions, so in total, the sum of the proposed spending cuts is far from the target of 20 billion lei, which should be saved by the end of the year.
The Ministry of Labor proposes a 20 percent reduction in fuel expenses and a reduction in non-essential internal and external travel.
The Ministry of Tourism is also considering the tourism marketing chapter.
According to political sources, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advanced a reduction of approximately 600 million lei in goods and services and unfilled positions, while the Ministry of Research proposed a reduction of 160 million lei.
The Ministry of Digitization proposes the efficiency of human resources through a plan to reorganize the institution.
However, there are also ministries that will not have a substantial reduction in expenses, such as that of Investments and European Projects, where employees are paid mostly from European money, while the Ministry of Culture proposed a saving of only 2 million lei.
The reduction of Education and Transport expenses is excluded, after the statements of the ministers according to which the allocated funds are insufficient and they will ask for the addition to the budget rectification.
All proposals to reduce expenses advanced by ministries will be analyzed next week in the executive meeting.
Also then, the Ministry of Finance should come up with its own analysis regarding the reduction of expenses and the increase of budget receipts.
