Authorities expect the number of coronavirus cases to increase in the coming period.

A report by the National Institute of Public Health, presented this week, shows that in the most pessimistic scenario, by September 15, the number of infections could exceed 1.500 per day.

At the same time, there are many people from vulnerable groups who have not been vaccinated.

The coordinator of the national campaign Valeriu Gheorghita recommends them to choose a serum for immunization as soon as possible so that they can better protect themselves in the next period.

During a visit to Cluj County, he expressed the hope that the growing trend of infections will be slow so that there is no pressure on the health system.

Valeriu Gheorghita: It is clear that in Romania we have a tendency, at this moment, to increase the number of cases. We hope that this growth will be slow, not exponential and that we will be able to adapt so that there is no increased pressure on the health system. What we have seen in the last four weeks is that almost 90% of diagnosed people are among the unvaccinated, and in terms of deaths, over 91% of deaths are in people who have not been vaccinated with any dose. That is why, at this time, it is important to better protect ourselves through vaccination. It is the sure solution, the efficient solution through which we can control our epidemiological situation at the level of each county and at national level.
