The Ministry of Education states that at the special session of Baccalaureate attended over 800 competitors at sports competitions after the Olympic and Sportive Committee President , Octavian Morariu, was surprised by the large number of candidates and demanded an investigation.
According to representatives of the Ministry in accordance with the procedures in force, and the lists of participants in sporting competitions opting to participate at the special session of Baccalaureate are approved and fully undertaken by the national sports federations.
Contacted by Radio Romania Actualități, Octavian Morariu said that notion of Olympic includes only those 108 athletes nominated by the Olympic National Centres.
"Our approach was for a clarification. I wanted to see who are these 700 young medalists but not included in the statistics. They are athletes. They are athletes in other groups, teams, clubs. These athletes are not Olympics. I don't want things to happen under that name "Olympic Games", ' Olympic '.
"There are too many issues related to this word, to this symbol, that
that have happened lately and not create a favourable image of our movement," said Octavian Morariu.
The Baccalaureate special session was held from 21 to 31 May, displaying the results in May 31, 18.00, and filing complaints on the same day, during 18.00-22.00.
Resolving complaints will be made during Friday, and the final results of the special session of the Baccalaureate exam to be displayed also Friday until 24.00.
