YOU + EU: What are the powers of the European Parliament?

The 33 MEPs who will represent Romania in the European Parliament, after the elections set for 9 June, will bring on the agenda of the EU legislature both national issues with EU relevance and topics of general interest.
Some of the issues, which have already been debated during the current mandate, will be taken up and transposed into laws by the next plenary session in Strasbourg. Others, already adopted, will need to be further adapted or added to in the current geopolitical context.
"The European Union needs new tools to fight disinfomation - a dangerous front opened by Russia against open societies", says Eugen Tomac, MEP of the People's Movement Party and member of the European People's Party group.
