After they have gone so far through Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, the crew consisting of Iulian Angheluţă, Alexandru Molovata and Nicolae Stancu arrived in Turkey.
Romanian crew "Dacioţii" takes part in Mongol Rally 2012 and is located in the 12th day of the expedition.
In Turkey, their car made acquaintance with more distant relatives, knew the fact that in Turkey is still circulate quite a lot of cars Renault 12, the mark from which inspired the creators of Dacia 1300, the ancestor of Dacia 1310, the automobile that the crew participates to the charity rally.
“We will cover 18,000 miles, from Bucharest to the East, till Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, passing through 15 countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia”, Romanian crew said.
This is the first time when a Dacia will reach to Mongolia and it is the first Dacia who participates in this rally.
All the crews are on their own and the organizers do not ensure technical or medical assistance.
That's the idea, say the organizers, Mongol Rally is not a race where you have to get the first, it is a rally in which you must keep the car not snapping in two.
Especially since all the cars that arrive at the destination will be donated or sold, the money being allocated to the Lotus Children’s Centre.
Also, in addition, each team donates 500 pounds to Lotus Children’s Centre and at least 500 pounds to another humanitarian cause.
“We love to run and we are involved in humanitarian and social campaigns and we want this project to attract attention to orphaned or abandoned children in Mongolia, but also on children in our country who need us”, told the crew.
