RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Wednesday, when the Union of the Principalities is celebrated, is a day off. There will be dancing of the Hora of the Union and performances scheduled. In Focsani there will be a guided tour along the border that separated Moldova from Wallachia in 1859. In Iasi, more than 300 soldiers will parade down Cuza Voda Street, and a religious and military ceremony is scheduled at the statue of the ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Union Square. Depending on weather conditions, the parade will be supplemented by a helicopter flyover. In the evening the traditional torchlight retreat ceremony will take place. In Bucharest, the Cotroceni Museum will also be open to the public on Wednesday, while the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra at the Romanian Athenaeum is celebrating the Day of the Unification of the Principalities with a series of events dedicated mainly to students. The building can be visited free of charge from 14:00 to 16:00, and from 18:00 there will be a history lesson.
