RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The police draw attention to the emergence of a method of deception perpetrated through social networks by people who claim to be representatives of state or private gas or electricity companies or reputable banks, with the aim of determining people to invest in fake investment products or funds.
Reporter: Cristian Bacain - "The authors promote advertisements that are falsely related to the company, firm or bank they claim to represent, with the aim of making people believe that the investment is safe and profitable. After contacting the victims online, they then access internet banking applications installed on their phones and transfer large sums of money or even people's entire savings from their accounts. The police advise citizens to be very cautious when contacted by unknown people and not to be deceived by promises of quick enrichment.
