Mountain rescuers warn that the snow in the mountains in the last few days has not settled on the ground and there is a danger of avalanches.
They ask tourists going to the mountains to give up, at least this weekend, hiking on the routes located in the high ridge areas.
Two skiers were caught yesterday in an avalanche in the Fagaras mountains in the Balea area, on Valea Doamnei.
According to Salvamont Sibiu, the tourists were well equipped and managed to save themselves.
Another avalanche also took place yesterday in Balea, below the Paltinul peak, while there were 15 skiers in the area, but luckily no one was caught under the snow.
In the Fagaras Mountains, at over 1.800 meters altitude, there is a moderate risk of producing second degree avalanches, on a scale from 1 to 5.
At Balea Lac the snow layer exceeds half a meter.
