Viorica Dăncilă resigned from the position of president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), and party management was temporarily taken over by President of Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu.
During the meeting of the PSD National Executive Committee, which lasted over six hours, all the Social Democrats have admitted they had made multiple mistakes and have agreed that a reset of the party was needed.
Viorica Dăncilă is to take over the leadership of PSD women's organization.
New team that will ensure PSD interim leadership until PSD Congress in February 2020: Paul Stănescu - Secretary General, eight regional representatives and leaders of the five branches that achieved good results in the presidential elections.
