Vaccination against covid with the third dose begins today. The official start will be given at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases "Matei Bals" in Bucharest, by the medical staff in the front lines against the virus.
The first person to be vaccinated is the manager of the unit, Catalin Apostolescu, primary doctor of infectious diseases.
The coordinator of the vaccination campaign, Valeriu Gheorghita, is going to attend this activity and will also be involved in the immunization process.
Valeriu Gheorghita: The urgency to start vaccination with the third dose faster is generated by the epidemiological situation, which we see worsening from day to day, and the prospects are not very optimistic, so our duty is to create accessibility to vaccination and give the possibility of the vulnerable to strengthen their immune response given that the Delta variant is dominant.
