USR asks the Ministry of Health to urgently initiate a campaign to inform parents about the importance of vaccinating children to prevent measles, mumps and rubella epidemics.

USR points out that the vaccine refusal rate for the three diseases is higher in urban areas than in rural areas. Under these conditions, USR calls on the Ministry of Health to denounce the anti-vaccine discourse, to combat it with credible data, through information and awareness campaigns.

At the same time, it is requested to ensure continuity in terms of the supply of vaccines from the immunization scheme for children.

Moreover, USR states that health mediators and community medical assistants must be hired as a priority, to ensure access to basic medical services in vulnerable communities.
