The United States will appoint an ambassador to Bucharest in 2014, believes the former American Ambassador to Romania, Mark Gitenstein.

The United States will appoint an ambassador to Bucharest in 2014, believes the former American Ambassador to Romania, Mark Gitenstein.
He said that it is embarrassing the fact that Washington has not yet appointed an ambassador to Bucharest and stated that the United States make these appointments following a process that proved to be dysfunctional.
"The U.S. government should make, in the first phase, a selection of candidates for the post of ambassador, which has not happened yet", also said Mister Gitenstein.
The former American Ambassador to Bucharest added that due to the crisis in Ukraine, the mission of a U.S. ambassador to Romania has become more difficult.
