US supports security of the Black Sea
The United States provides Romania and Bulgaria with all the support to balance the security situation in the Black Sea dominated by Russia's naval and air presence.

The United States provides Romania and Bulgaria with all the support to balance the security situation in the Black Sea dominated by Russia's naval and air presence. Statement has been made today, for Radio Romania, by the United States Permanent Representative to NATO, Ambassador Kay Bailey Hutchison:
"The United States supports the Eastern European initiative and will strengthen its defense capabilities specifically for Romania and Bulgaria, because these countries are near the Crimean Peninsula and we want to make sure that they have the defense and deterrence capabilities they need, and we will collaborate in this respect with the two countries".
At a telephonic press conference, US Permanent Representative to NATO, Kay Bailey Hutchison, praised Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for the outcome of the referendum on changing the name of the country to the Republic of North Macedonia, which will support the country's inclusion in NATO.
