United States Senate has confirmed Adrian Zuckerman as the new US Ambassador to Romania. Mr. Zuckerman is a real estate lawyer from the law firm Seyfarth Shaw in New York City who immigrated to the United States from Romania as a child and still speaks fluent Romanian.
A prominent New York lawyer, Adrian Zuckerman was, inter alia, a partner in the international law firm Seyfarth Shaw and served as chair of a civil court judicial screening panel and as an arbitrator for the Real Estate Board of New York. He also was co-head of national real estate and corporate services at Epstein Becker & Green, head of real estate at Lowenstein Sandler.
The strongest aspect of the US-Romania relationship is military cooperation, Adrian Zuckerman said in the confirmation hearings from the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, on June 20. Romania has become a strategic ally of the United States. Romania's economy is one of the fastest growing economies in the EU, Adrian Zuckerman stated.
Adrian Zuckerman: "Romania is rich in forests, rich in agriculture, in minerals, oil, natural gas and other natural resources. Recently, there have been revealed substantial reserves of oil and gas in the Black Sea, which have the potential to support the energy security of Romania and Europe. However, Romania must continue to fight against corruption".
