University of Bucharest,in the top 200 universities in the world
University of Bucharest is the only institution of higher education in Romania present in top 200 in the specialties of foreign languages, and mass-media communication.

University of Bucharest is the only institution of higher education in Romania present in the Majors Ranking of World Universities (QS World University Rankings by Subject).
The educational institution ranked among the top 200 universities in the world in two subjects: languages and media and communication, informs the university website.
The 2013 edition of International Ranking of World Universities by Majors conducted by QS was published Wednesday, May the 8th, 2013, on the website www.topuniversities.com.
Rankings include the top 200 higher education institutions in the world based on 30 majors. The top rated universities in 2858 and included a total of 678 institutions.
At language category, the first three places from the top were occupied, in order, by the University of Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard.
At media and communication specialization, the first place is occupied by the University of California, Berkeley, followed by the University of Texas and Columbia University.
Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings is an annual ranking of the best 700 universities in the world by the QS Intelligence Unit conducted with a group of world renowned professors and researchers.
The ranking is done based on four key indicators: academic research, teaching quality, employability of graduates and the degree of internationalization.
Starting 2011, the universities top was expanded to include a range of disciplines and universities that excel in each.
In realizing the university top based on specializations, academics’ (QS Global Academic Survey) and employers’ (QS Global Employer Survey) point of view is taken into account, as well as the number of citations of papers published and the Hirsch index, which assesses the productivity and impact of the academic research.
