Ukrainian refugees entering Romania, exempted from quarantine

The Romanian authorities have canceled the obligation to quarantine Ukrainian citizens entering Romania amid the worsening situation in the neighboring country and give assurances that they can benefit from all medical services in case of need, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The vast majority of Ukrainians entering Romania do not apply for refugee or asylum status, so they can benefit from all forms of medical care for three months as long as they currently have the right to remain in Romania.
The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, says that the local administrations and hospital management welcome them with open arms and that other measures will be taken to support the Ukrainian citizens, who come to Romania, from a medical point of view.
Alexandru Rafila: The operationalization of structures at the level of public health directorates, and of course at the level of the Ministry of Health, to ensure coordination and rapid intervention in case the influx of people coming from Ukraine is large, must happen.
There are currently mobile medical teams that can travel to any centers that will be set up by the Ministry of Administration and Interior so that they can assess the health of people there, give them the opportunity to get tested, get vaccinated and refer them to routine medical services if necessary.
We are preparing to include in the information package that Ukrainian citizens will receive when they enter the national territory a section dedicated to accessing medical services, so they know what to do, where to go, and to address whether they have health problems.
