RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) is not considering withdrawing from the government, even if the leaders of this formation are disappointed that Zoltan Nagy-Bege was not re-elected vice-president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority. The statement was made by the president of UDMR, deputy prime minister Hunor Kelemen.
Hunor Kelemen: "Unfortunately, we did not have a written agreement there. There was a gentlemen's agreement six months ago, when the mandate was extended, but we did not make a written agreement. It's a bad signal. It shouldn't have happened, because, beyond the political aspect, there is also that professional aspect. It is about a man who did the heavy lifting during this period at the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), including in communication, and who is a specialist, not a politician. He worked in ANRE and before he was vice-president, he was general director there."
RRA reporter Claudiu Padurean recalls that the parliament voted three days ago for a new ANRE management. Two representatives of the National Liberal Party and two of the Social Democratic Party were appointed to the four positions that became vacant, while the UDMR remained without any position at the head of the authority.
