Specialized Court in the City of Cluj has banned the ”unfair competition practices” of Uber, that provides transport services without legal authorizations. Court’s decision is not final, and the company has 30 days to file an appeal, says Agerpres.
Uber is disappointed with the Court’s decision.
"Hundreds of thousands of people in Romania rely on Uber for their daily journeys, and thousands of drivers earn an extra revenue through their partnership with us. We are very disappointed with this decision and we will appeal. Services such as Uber need to be regulated, so we will continue our dialogue with the authorities, and meanwhile we are taking proactive steps toward a licensed model", says Uber.
