Leonid Carp and Ștefan Strat are the winners of two Silver Medals in the 2019 ICF Junior&U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships (1-4 August, Pitesti, Romania). Competition took place at Budeasa Dam, on the Arges River, which is also the training base for the Romanian national canoe sprint team.
The two Romanian athletes won the second place in both finals in which they qualified, respectively 1000 and 500 meters.
In the same championship, Constantin Dîba won the third Silver Medal for Romania, finishing second in the Junior Canoe Simple - 1000 meters.
On Medal Table, Hungary placed first with 21 medals (10 gold, six silver and five bronze). Germany placed second, with 13 medals (six gold, three silver and four bronze) and Canada placed third, with six medals (three gold, two silver and one bronze). In the same ranking, Romania placed 16th out of 20 countries that won medals at this world championship.
