Two UK RAF (Royal Air Force) Typhoon fighter jets have been launched on 21 August from the "Mihail Kogălniceanu" (MK) Air Base near Constanța (Black Sea), in response to two suspect Russian Sukhoi SU24 Fencer that approached NATO’s air space over the Black Sea.
Russian aircraft headed southwest, from Crimea towards NATO airspace, situation that also happened recently and has generated similar response action.
UK Typhoon fighter jets operated in line with NATO air policing mission where Britain contributes to ensure security of Romania and NATO allies.
