Romanian ports of Tulcea and Isaccea are to be modernized with European funds. These are the only two Romanian ports for which financing contracts for modernization have been signed so far - as announces the Intercommunity Development Association ITI Danube Delta – Integrated Territorial Investment.
RRA correspondent in Tulcea, Luisa Rosetti, interview with President of the Association, Ilie Petre:
Ilie Petre: There are only four projects submitted in the framewotk of the national program, and all of them are in this region. We have two projects in Tulcea – the seafront and the industrial port - and two projects in Isaccea.
Total value of the works to be carried out in Isaccea and Tulcea through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (LIOP) is 235 million lei. Authorities in Tulcea are currently preparing three other projects, with an estimated budget of 90 million euros, to modernize some port infrastructures.
