Romania ranks first in Europe and among the top five countries in the world at the International Physics Olympiad.

Romania ranks first in Europe and among the top five countries in the world at the International Physics Olympiad for secondary school students.

The Romanians have won four gold medals and a silver medal.

According to the Romanian Ministry of Education, the gold medal laureats are Anca Drăgulescu, Răzvan Octavian Radu and Petru Cotruţ, from the International Computer Science High School in Bucharest, and Andrei Radu from the "Nicolae Bălcescu" National College in Brăila.

The silver medal was won by Sebastian Leontică, from the “Petru Rareş” National College in Piatra Neamţ.

This year's International Physics Olympiad took place in Indonesia and brought together 424 competitors from 88 countries.
