DN 7 C Tranfagarasan will reopen next week, after a technical commission made up of road workers and police officers will check if the safety conditions are met.
DN 7 C Transfagarasan connects Muntenia and Transylvania and is the second highest road in Romania, reaching the altitude of 2.042 m at Balea Lac.
This year, snow removal at 2.000 m altitude was made with great difficulty, the snow layer being thick, exceeding in some places 5 meters.
On DN 67 C Transalpina, the highest road in Romania, traffic is allowed exclusively during the day, between Ranca and Obarsia Lotrului, a section that reaches a maximum altitude of 2.145 m.
